Four Periods of Tang Poetry

The four Periods of Tang poetry.

Tang poetry can be roughly divided into four stages: early Tang, prosperous, middle and late Tang.

Early Tang usually refers to about 100 years from the founding of Tang Dynasty to Tang Xuanzong (唐玄宗), prosperous Tang refers to about 50 years from Tang Xuanzong to Daizong (代宗) , middle Tang is about 50 years from Dezong (德宗) to Wenzong (文宗) , and late Tang is the last 70 years of Tang Dynasty from late Wenzong.
