Chinese Genealogy Names

Some chinese large families have genealogy, which clearly stipulates one of the characters that should be used in the names of generations. This represents a certain generation in the family is one of the standard two-character Chinese names, and the same generation in the family shares this character, siblings or cousins. The word used can be the first or second word in the name.
So in a traditional Chinese family, you'll see many men or women with the same one character in their name, it's also possible that the man has one same character and the girl has another.
For example, "Zhang Dacheng" (張大成) and "Zhang Dagong"（張大功） share the same character "Da"（大）.
