Chinese Ancient Style Poetry

Rhyme, it`s rhyme.

Ancient style poetry (詩, Shi) is the most important form of old style poetry. In this form, the most important variants are the "folk song style" (樂府, Yuefu), the "old style" (古詩, Gushi) and the "modern style" (近體詩, Jintishi). Rhyming is a must in any case.

Yuefu poems can be either folk songs or poems written based on the characteristics of folk songs, and the number of lines and the number of words in each line can be irregular. Throughout other ancient poetry forms, generally speaking, four lines, also known as 絕句 (Juegou) or eight lines, also known as 律詩 (Lushi) are common, and double-numbered sentences are used as rhyming sentences. The number of words in each line of a poem is limited by the number of words in the style of poetry, one word is equal to one syllable, most of which are five-character or seven-character rhythms, and include a rest before the last three syllables.
